The 'U' value is the rate at which heat passes through a wall; the higher the U-value, the quicker the heat escapes through the wall. The figures below show some typical U-values for a standard cavity wall before and after the installation of Bonded Bead.
The chart provides information on relative U-values for unfilled and filled cavity walls in accordance with BRE Digest 108. To calculate the thermal properties of walls with Bonded Bead, simply select the type of construction as coded on the chart, follow the curve from cavity width size, and at the point where the curve line breaks the centre of the coded area read off the 'U' value directly opposite.
